CNMV Cracks Down on 14 Unregistered Financial Firms

New Warnings Issued by CNMV

Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued warnings against 14 financial companiesoperating without proper registration.

These firms are not authorized to provide investment services in Spain, potentially posing risks to investors.

Investors are urged to verify the registration status of firms with the CNMV before engaging in any financial activities. This can be done via the CNMV’s investor service by phone or email.

Stricter Rules for CFDs

Additionally, CNMV has implemented stricter rules for Contracts for Difference (CFDs) to protect retail investors. Effective from July 20, 2023, these regulations ban CFD marketing to the general public through various channels, including sales agents and event sponsorships.

These measures build on previous EU and Spanish restrictions to curb high-risk investment promotions.
