Warning: Beware of Clone Firm Impersonating Authorised Firm
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is alerting the public to be cautious of dealing with a clone firm presenting itself as Ark Mining.
This firm is not authorised by us and has been contacting individuals, misleading them by pretending to be an authorised firm known as Ark Invest International Ltd.
Clone Firm Details
Fraudsters are exploiting the following details to deceive people:
- Name: Ark Mining / arkmining.co.uk / arkmining.uk (Clone of FCA Authorised Appointed Representative)
- Website: https://www.arkmining.co.uk/, https://www.arkmining.uk/
- Phone: +447391346289
- Email: invest@arkmining.co.uk, invest@ark-mining.com, invest@arkmining.uk
Scammers may also use other false details or mix these with legitimate information from authorised firms.
They might change their contact details frequently to avoid detection.
Impact on Consumers
If you engage with this clone firm, you won’t have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaints nor will you be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
This means you could lose your money with no recourse if the firm fails.
How to Protect Yourself
Always verify whether a financial firm is authorised by checking the FCA’s Financial Services Register.
This will not only confirm their authenticity but also provide you with information on how you’re protected and contact details for authorised firms.
If approached unexpectedly by a financial entity, respond using contact details found on the FS Register.
